How to Deploy the Securly SmartPAC to Your macOS Devices via Meraki System Manager
You can deploy the Securly SmartPAC solution to your macOS devices using various Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, including Meraki System Manager, FileWave, TabPilot, and Airwatch. This guide focuses on deploying Securly using Meraki System Manager.
Follow these steps to deploy Securly SmartPAC:
- Log in to your Meraki dashboard and navigate to Systems Manager > MDM > Settings.
- Click on the + Add profile button and select Device profile (default). Click on Continue.
- Enter Securly macOS as the profile name.
- Set the Profile Removal Policy to Require password to remove this profile and enter a secure password.
- Click on + Add settings and select Certificate.
- Name the certificate Securly.
- Click Choose a file and browse to the location where the certificate was downloaded to your workstation. Click Save. (You can download the certificate attachment at the end of this article.)
- Click on + Add settings and select Wi-Fi Settings.
- Set Proxy setup to Automatic.
- Enter the SmartPAC URL provided by Securly support or your Sales Engineer. Note that Meraki MDM requires an SSID to save the Proxy URL. This can be a dummy SSID; it does not need to be a real one, as it is used solely to apply the Proxy settings for all Wi-Fi connections.
- Click on + Add settings and select macOS System Preferences.
- Uncheck the boxes next to Network and Profiles. This will prevent users from removing the proxy configuration and profile.
- Click Save.
- Click Save again to finalize the process.
