How to Renew an Expired or Expiring ADE (DEP) Server Token
An Automatic Device Enrollment (ADE, formerly known as DEP) server token is a file that enables communication between Apple School Manager (ASM) and your Securly Mobile Device Management (MDM) system. This token allows your Securly MDM to sync with ASM for managing devices, including automated enrollment and assigning devices to users.
ADE server tokens typically expire annually and must be updated to ensure continuity of service. Additionally, you may need to update your token if the expiration date shows as "unknown" for one of your tokens in the Settings > Device Enrollment menu.
Steps to Renew Your ADE Server Token
Follow these steps to renew your ADE server token:
- Log in to your Apple School Manager (ASM) account. Click your name/email address at the bottom of the left menu, and then select Preferences.
- Select the MDM server associated with your Securly MDM account.
- Click on Download Token, then select Download Server Token.
- In Securly MDM, navigate to Settings > Device Enrollment > Automated Device Enrollment and select the ASM account.
- On the Account panel, upload the server token that you downloaded from ASM, then click Save.
By following these steps, you will successfully renew your ADE server token and maintain the connection between your Securly MDM and Apple School Manager.
