How to create Activity reports in Securly Filter
Securly Filter allows you to email the student and OU activity reports via the Activities Feed. You can inform teachers, counselors, or parents about a specific student’s or OU’s activities by emailing them such activity reports. It is also recommended to use the email report functionality when you anticipate the number of activities in the report to be more than 5000.
To generate activity reports for specific students:
Log in to Securly Filter or Securly Aware.
Navigate to the Activities tab and click the Reports button in the upper right-hand corner.
Select the type of activity you want to generate a report for by selecting either "Blocked", "Allowed" or "All".
Select the "Student Email" radio button.
Enter the email ID of the student you want to download the report for. You can enter up to 5 email IDs. Note that the student email ID must belong to the school domain registered with Securly.
Select Category. Note that you can only select one category at a time.
Select the Policy. Note that you can only select one policy at a time.
Select one of the filters for activity types - Recent, Site, Videos, Searches, Wiki, and Social Posts.
Select the time range for which you want to generate the report. You can also select a custom date range for a maximum of 30 days.
Click the Get Report button and download the report either as CSV or PDF.
You can also choose the "Email reports" option to share them with others. Multiple email addresses can be entered separated by commas. Note that for security reasons, scheduled and emailed report links are restricted to the exact email address added as a report recipient. Users must be signed in with that same address to view the report. Distribution lists, unlisted admins, and forwarded emails will return an "Unauthorized Access" error. To ensure recipients can open the report, make sure to add their individual email address to the report recipient list.
To email activity reports of specific OUs:
Follow the same steps and select the "OU" radio button.
Select an OU from the dropdown for the Select an OU field.*
You can also choose to include any Verbose activity logs"
Finally, continue to download or share using the Get Report button.
*Note that even if you select a parent OU, you will be displaying activities for users only in that OU and not the users contained within the sub-OUs for that parent OU. If you want to view activities for users in the sub-OU you would need to choose the specific sub-OU. For example: If domain.com is a parent OU with 10 users and Grade 1 and Grade 2 are sub-OUs under it with 30 users each, you will be displaying activities only for the 10 users that are a part of the parent OU and not the Grade 1 and Grade 2 sub-OU users
