How Teachers Can Identify Students Missing Mandatory Activities
When a student is expected to miss a mandatory activity, teachers can view this information on the Student Attendance screen in Flex. There will be a “Missing Student” section at the bottom of the attendance list for that specific activity. Students who are missing will be listed here along with the corresponding reason.
Below are potential reasons a student may miss a mandatory activity:
- They are scheduled for a higher priority activity (e.g., Brandon & Maggie students below).
- They were scheduled in another ‘same-level’ activity and chose to attend the other mandatory activity (e.g., Kimberly student below).
- An Admin has “manually excluded” the student because they are not expected to participate in the school’s flex period (e.g., Joseph student below).
As indicated in the screenshot above, teachers will know whether to expect the student in flex or not. This may also lead to important conversations between teachers and students.
Tip: If a “missing student” appears on your activity attendance list, utilizing the Student Search (Students > Student Search) feature may help you plan accordingly for any future activities.
